A propos nothing: Sex scenes. Love 'em, hate 'em, doesn't matter, but I have a piece of advice for new authors from.their friendly neighborhood polyamorous butch lesbian:
They are like anything else in writing. Write what you want to read, nothing else.

So I don't usually write them, write them fade to black, or tend to be more vague.
There is merit to both approaches, descriptive and vague, and not only should people choose what they like, I think both should exist.
If you don't like writing sex scenes, don't, even when people tell you it'll sell better. If it sucks to write, it won't be worth it.
Write what you want to read really hits home.
