We'll probably own this console, down the line, but I'm not sure if we will purchase two, like we did for our original switches. I'll wait for third party gamepads as well, since they tend to last longer than anything Nintendo sells. 😑
I’m excited. I was expecting a $399-$449 price point, and that’s what we got. New game announcements are exciting, happy with the specs, looking forward to Switch 2 Versions of Switch games. Only thing I found disappointing is the MKW $80 price point, and the game card issues.
I might be priced out. The camera isn't packed in, the chat options require the online membership. Extra joycon are $100cnd for original switch, no idea what they will be here. Add in a couple games and I'm close to $1000 cnd. That's just too big of an investment right now for what it is.
Joycon and Pro controllers are both $10 higher USD than the original from what I read earlier. Personally, I’m just going to put some money in a can each payday until I have the amount needed. It won’t be anytime soon.
Excited about the hardware and third-party support but will likely wait until a mid-gen refresh or OLED model to buy in. Hopefully prices and exclusives will be better at that point.
Unfortunately, people jump the gun and automatically blame Nintendo for that, when I assume it's Trump's fault because of his tariffs. I could be wrong though.
Yes I know. I wasn’t blaming them entirely. They could have bumped up the prices just a little bit and still made profit.
Trump is at fault for ruining everything.
The tariff rates hadn’t been announced yet, and we didn’t know that the countries Nintendo and Apple and others were switching to would be hit with higher rates than China. I’m guessing it won’t launch at $449, but $600+. Hopefully I’m wrong.
I’m excited about it. It would be the first Switch that I ever have. Never played with one. I’ve been saving the money. Now, being able to actually preorder one, that’s another story. I tried registering on their website, but it says to be eligible you need a Switch Online Membership 😔
The Direct itself was awesome (weird that Wind Waker is on virtual console, though). Everything else revealed today outside the Direct has been kind of a dumpster fire, though.
Underwhelming? Mario Kart looks cool but $80 is outrageous. Nintendo makes amazing games but charging higher prices than the two systems they are a generation behind of is likely going to be a deal breaker for many. 🤷🏻♂️

I was really impressed with the combination of dual mouses WITH gyro control. If put to good use, I can see that being a lot of fun!
Imagine the next Wario Ware will be a blast!
$450 for the console, $200 for 1tb SD express card, and $80 for a kart racer
If I can jack my current Splatoon Edition Switch OLED for $300 then I may grab it.
Hell to the No. This is likely to flop HARD.
Additionally, now thanks to Nintendo the rest of the industry has an excuse to charge more for games.
