Literally heard someone talk about what happens when we reach Manhattan-level density as a result of the 2044 Kirkland Comp Plan. I don't even have words.
Meh, it’s a hand full of 5 story apartments in a strip mall area. Literally no density being added except for a few blocks. I guess if you’re comparing it to like Brier….
It's 1,400 units in what is currently a ghost town. That's pretty impressive. And it's far from the only development happening in the city. (There's a lot in and around Alderwood, despite light rail not making it out there for several years.)
I'm just wondering what the damn delay is.
Lynnwood’s population (in city limits, excluding unincorporated parts) is 45k. Hardly a ghost town. Question, would you rather build these in the residential neighborhoods instead of replacing the half abandoned strip malls and underused surface parking lots?
I was referring to the abandoned strip mall that exists there now. And in this case, yes that's exactly where this should be build, since it's literally across the street from the light rail station. I'd live there in a heartbeat, if it were actually open.
