🧵 Pro-Kremlin disinfo network "Matryoshka" this Friday targeted the Reporters Without Borders (@rsf.org) with a special episode.
With hijacked RSF logo, they falsely labelled several genuine videos* as fake using a fraudulent 'INFOX' watermark.

As @colingerard.bsky.social points out, this could be a direct response to RSF's recent report exposing how Matryoshka / Storm-1679 is repeatedly impersonating RSF to promote Kremlin's narratives:

What could support Colin's hypothesis are 2 more RSF-branded fake video posted by Matryoshka within less than two weeks after release of the report.
While RSF report mentions only 6 fake videos ever impersonating the organization, we can conclusively attribute 9 such videos, all posted by Matryoshka bots on X/Twitter.
In addition, RSF report mentions this video that we have never seen posted by Matryoshka on X/Twitter, but it was massively posted on Telegram, likely with the same actor behind it.
