Basically the AfD wanted to bring a suit against being monitored by the Verfassungsschutz (Constitutional protection ). That suit got rejected and they appealed against that rejection and got rejected again

No, sorry for the confusion: AfD was classified federally as a ‘verdachtsfall’. They sued against it. They lost.
