Televisions are both cheaper and better now than they were decades ago. While the technology of a product is constantly evolving, it can have a totally different inflationary curve than a product that has technologically matured ages ago. Take eggs, for example: same product + no innovation = $$$ 😉
Sometimes things don't work out the way we want but in this case I think 600b worth of nvidia losing money and turning the brand toxic might make them the confederate dollars of the GPU spaceways
The race isn't over. AI is in it's infancy. A lot of issues remain.
I don't believe Nvidia cards will ever get cheaper. They're not my favorite people.
NVidia is still trying to force the bubble rather than pivot their TSMC fab capacity to consumer cards, but we'll see how long they hold out with that. If companies start cancelling orders, they're gonna have to refocus their energy, if only so AMD & Intel don't leverage the opening this presents.
