My husband tested positive this morning - a victim of the idiocy of American citizens, as he works in retail and is at the whim of idiots.

This has impacted me as well, as I have had to scramble to re-schedule/telehealth appointments, including my oncologist.

We (Americans) are idiots.

In the UK, those under 65 can only get vaccinated if they are at risk or in special categories like carers. Vaccines can't currently be purchased privately either. It's a huge scandal.

Unfortunately we have an absolutely terrible government. For example during lockdown, the prime minister at the time (Johnson) and the current Prime Minister were both fined by the police for attending parties, which sums up their attitude to public health.

In theory maybe, in practice who knows, but the main point is that the majority of the population has waning immunity, when there's a perfectly good vaccine out there.

The government also stopped free flu jabs for those between 50 and 65.

I guess they just want to kill lots of the population.

A significant portion of the country will not care until it affects them directly. For 30% of them, the pandemic ended as soon as Biden said it was over. For another 30%, it was always a fake, made-up thing. All thanks to misinformation coming from the very top for the last 4 years.
