Seems like this is relevant of you are HLA-A02 in haplotype. Which is about 30% of white people and less of non-white populations. I struggle to see this as a major selection advantage for a virus (and the most likely reason species have so much MHC diversity in their populations).

Paywall. Interested to know if the authors discuss vaccine-mediated T-cell immunity? Still "no COVID" for me 🙏🏻 8 shots in & N95s have saved me thus far. Still, I'm concerned about the lack of cell-mediated immunity from protein-only vaccines (mRNA & Novavax).

What can be done to improve cell-based immunity? I'm all for the usual healthier lifestyle measures (healthy diet, Vitamin D3/B12 supplementation, etc.), but they're NOT a replacement for wearing an N95 or better mask.

Unfortunately not much - infected cell does not present the epitope of the virus well - as MHC Class I used to present this is effected by virus - hence host T cells cannot respond well.
