Are commercially available home filters for air and drinking water sufficient to remove microplastics from the home? I’m thinking about the hepa filtration we used for cars vid and something like a brita water filter

Pretty sure it helps alot. I have a winex air filter in several rooms (including the one I do 3D printing). It has an activated charcoal pre-filter that absorbs alot of the VOCs. It does take the plastic smell put of the air when I 3D print. I also open a window if the weather isn't too awful.

My Dad was a polymer chemist who developed PD. He thought it may be due to extensive exposure to solvent/skin contact. Wonder if that facilitated absorption of micro/nanoplastics?

—had 7-30 times more accumulation of microparticles (MPs) than the liver or kidney (organs with previously documented high propensity)
—from people with dementia had 5X accumulation of MPs compared with non-dementia

I did research years ago on particulate matter via IV therapy- using inline filters prevent that infiltration but deemed too expensive to use! That was with just I’ve therapy components-glass, rubber, plastic but the CEO of the trust poopooed it printed in Nursing Times & another ( can’t remember)

I grew up on Staten Island, with airflow stream from the refineries in NJ adding a little ‘spice’to the air.

I’m curious if exercise may help because there were so many studies showing a decreased risk of dementia with aerobic exercise. I wondered if maybe proliferation of oxygen helps the immune system clear the waste out? Or something. What a waste of money asking such questions is! Who needs NIH grrr
