Just started ezetimibe, added to my simvistation. It has caused nitely urine runs several times. I stopped today and will talk to my doctor when I see him.

I’m proof it works. My cardiologist increased my Lipitor dosage to 80mg to reduce my LDL. My LDL went down to 77. We reduced the dosage back to 40mg and added Ezetimibe. After 4 months, my LDL went down to 65.

Unfortunately a lot of people perscribed ezetimibre have significant negative reactions to statins. But for those that use statins without negative side effects, this could well improve LDL-3 control.

I've heard thatmost diabetics are ptescribed statins these days, and many others.

I did several years ago. A pharmacist got me onto ezetimibre. My LDLs tumbled from a scary high to quite healthy levels.

Ezetimibre doesn't do the job for everybody, but it helps me keep a lid on LDLs, especially triglycerides.

I’ve only had calcium test once. No one ever recommended. Then my older bro had a heart attack and after that there were deeper discussions. Also switched to a better PCP.

I was on just statins for the last 15 years and added the Zetia last year. Statins got cholesterol down but not low enough.

Ezetimibe is another cholesterol lowering medication but different from statins. The studies show combining the two types have better cardiovascular results than either one alone. It will likely be a new guideline for at risk heart patients.
