It's February, which means that it's NFL Combine time.
There are only a few NFL players that can do better than me on the 225 lb bench test.
I do this at the end of chest day, and usually get between 37 and 40. Today I had to cut the main workout short, so I was fresher than usual. I got 42.

This one of 37 reps was recorded at normal speed.
2. one of the weirdest “how did I end up here” experiences of my life was doing the 225 bench test at an NFL combine training camp because I was the camera guy for an article and they made me train on the last day I was there (I got 3 reps 😅)
I'll get 500 lbs this year.
My plan was to get to ~530 lbs worth of strength, so that when I attempt 500 lbs next, misgrooving wouldn't matter.
When I was a carpenter I squatted 220… and weighed 120. Those days are long gone but climbing has made my forearms wickedly strong.
500 is really dang impressive. like, that's my deadlift 😆
