Oh that's so sad, we had a similar thing in a storm last year with our beloved Magnolia tree. The tree surgeon was able to save the roots in the hope of saplings, what couldn't be saved we had made into hedgehog houses... its down, but can be reborn. Hope your oak tree survives and wildlife prosper
