Do you do anything differently when spinning for weaving as opposed to knitting? Just curious. I spin and knit, and recently acquired a rigid heddle loom. #spinning #weaving #handspun

I skip the plying and just weave with singles. Twice the yardage for the same amount of spinning, and the singles nestle together so nicely when woven. Sizing your yarn is key, tho.

For warp, I mean. For weft, anything goes, though I do like to have enough twist to make a stable yarn vs weaving with roving.

I don’t spin any different, tho it depends on the type of fabric you want I suppose. But there’s no rules really! I like to use thicker and thiner yarns for texture.
