I live in Dallas and I remember while I was out of power for days, the rich areas like where George Bush lives, in Highland Park, didn't lose power for a single moment. Not to mention the power companies price gouging and screwing people over with their bills, the entire thing still enrages me.

This is very misleading. The actual deaths from this freeze was 246 and Texans did respond with a lot of anger and demands to fix the system. I do not support Texas leadership but this was a devastating event for many of us and it seems wrong to manipulate it this way.

Hello :) I work in both TX and OK. I remember this quite well. It is true that the people who had money bought their own generators. As for the power grid.. That is unfortunately complicated. TX is on its own grid. Even if it wern't, the national power grid is like 50 years past maintenance

These are not opposing actions. Everyone regardless of income should demand the power grid gets fixed, and everyone with the means to do so should buy a backup power source as fixing power grids takes years.

Improvements would be done continuously, of course, so in four years the grid would be better - but getting it fully fixed could take a decade. Considering that one does not know when the next cold snap will hit, it would’ve been irresponsible to not buy a generator if one have the means.
