Disassemble the exterior chassis, flood the internals with penetrating oil, wipe off and relubricate. The panels can be cleaned with WD-40 and "0000" steel wool, then wiping clean with a whole mess of rags. It takes about a month. >_< I have progress posts on Imgur!
Ok, interesting. I work on clocks and watches and usually tear the whole thing down to lubricate. I could not see doing that on something of that complexity.
It was very much a chore, I don't think I'd enjoy doing it again unless I made a choice to take on another beater. I really don't have the right space for that kind of work. ><
I haven't been on Imgur yet today to see the progress post, but I've always enjoyed your cash machine restoration posts and can't wait to read the new one. Stay spiffy
Thanks! I haven't put up a progress post just yet since I hit a pretty significant roadblock yesterday with the marble slab I ordered. Trying to get a resolution worked out before I post. ><
Oof, that sucks about the roadblock! Did the marble act as like a surface to knock wrapped coins against to get them to all lay flat? I thought you said what it was for previously but I've got ponies on the mind so honestly I have no clue lol
