I've never been a fan of this holiday. When President Lincoln proclaimed it a national holiday, he did it to bring people together during the Civil War. Only Americans can hijack it and make it a holiday to celebrate the subjectation of millions of indigenous people.
I look at your pics and pics like them and feel a sense of calm no matter the chaos of the last 10yrs. Hopefully, the next 4yrs won't be allowed to undo nature's glory.
