And in both cases, it's MUTUAL, which is so rare in the genre! Usually it's just the brooding anti-hero who needs to be understood and valued, not the "normal" person.

Frank and Karen's relationship is just the most beautiful accident in adaptation history because they really do feel like two real people who fell in love because they understand and respect one another, not two characters who fell in love because the script says so.
Same with Matt and Foggy, except that one goes back all the way to the source material and heteronormativity prevents their relationship from ever being explored through a romantic lens, even it's one of those cases where that angle would actually add a lot.
Like, there are a lot of differences between Charlie!Matt and 616!Matt, but the one consistent thing is that Matt likes the idea of falling in love more than he likes any of his actual love interests. They all get either put on a pedestal, or he's constantly annoyed by them.
It'd be so interesting to see him actually consistently love somebody for *them* rather than chase that new relationship energy over and over again. (The closest he's ever come was his 616 relationship with Karen. No wonder he still thinks of her as the love of his life.)
