Maybe we are teaching entirely the wrong things. Teaching facts is fine but teaching somebody to learn is of the utmost importance. Finding support for your own opinions is not learning. Agee, but we need to also provide context to the reason why..a lot of people think Hitler just showed up in the late 30s and said hey let’s kill all these people, but didn’t know after serving time for treason, he became a politician a full twenty years before killing everyone

And if you read his April 12tj rant you can replace a couple words, and it’s a mimic of someone today

For sure. I don't know exactly how to put it. I just mean we need to instill in everyone the curiosity to find these things out. The information is available and the parallels are there if anybody cared to know.

So when somebody describes an individual today as a Nazi it should trigger something in your mind if you don't know what a Nazi is to find out what a Nazi is and then find out why this person believes that that individual is also a Nazi.

Because if work I’m plagued with trying to understand why countries do, or act in some way, but that also forces me to find the parallels to something to conform so I totally agree with you

It's been a long day so I don't know how I'm coming across right now but basically seek first to understand. If somebody tells me I'm wrong I don't necessarily say no immediately. I ask myself if I might just be wrong and then do my best to find out.

You can never be accurate while teaching history..it’s written by the people who succeeded, and only tells their version of events, to fully know, you have to dive into both sides, and objectively view it as an impartial
Remember during World War 1/2, nobody had an issue signing up to go to war
