Seems clear that Trump will try to force a deal that should guarantee peace during his term, not for the long term. That's the problem. But he can't force a deal making him look weak, same for Putin. The Europeans can continue support and could pay, especially with frozen Russian assets.

I'm my opinion Trump doesn't think other NATO members are worth and would switch them all by a Russia alliance against China. I think he would retire all help for Ukraine if Putin joined US against China. Trump is transactional and will search the best deal. Principles for him mean 0

Anyone who thinks that Ukrainian's ONLY option is US's "aid", they' out of their minds. Ukraine will continue to fight no matter what. And behind Ukraine, there's a HUGE majority of the EU.
Besides that, Ukraine have the power to demolish the global oil prices. And we'll see how Trump will like that
