Same. I heard somewhere that the russians negotiated some sort of exchange. I think it was speculated that russia might’ve had the locations of chemical weapons stockpiles and used that intel to get the US/Israel/Turkey to pressure HTS to let them evacuate. Unclear though.
With the atrocities that the russians committed and them now on the run, it must be difficult to stay the hand of vengeance. There must be some reason for it like the scenario you described.
Exactly. If I were an armed group that had been fighting the regime and their russian allies while they bombed my people and dropped chemical weapons, I would 100% not be letting them escape.
