They should leave all the gear, everything, and only after ruzzia pays the expenses load, some trucks and leave them at the border, not even going to go about make them stay in jail, and do some investigations to find if they are guilty of crimes.
Given these Russians were bombing Syrian civilians and hospitals no more than a couple of weeks ago.... i'm surprised the new Syrian army is letting them leave with their lives and their equipment...
True dat...
"In order to convert ten sinners into righteous men, one man should die. In vain you ask the thief not to steal, the killer not to kill. Asking doesn't accomplish anything. It's not the love of God that brings people to the church, but the fear of hell's throes."
Because itβs wiser to keep the country infrastructure intact and focus on reconstruction than risk avoidable battles that would result in further destruction. Itβs a golden opportunity to kick the Russians out without firing a shot. Because of Ukraine, Russians have no stomach to fight in this arena
Now that may be the fake part because HTS is not running the country. Some spam claims that but they are just known terrorist jihad groups who are not really accepted by the region and international community at all
They would get safe passage out when they leave. Nobody wants the Russians to stay
Reason of state now that the new masters of Syria must establish international relations.
I would not be surprised if they recognize the principle of continuity of government and therefore agree to respect the expiry of the contract for the concession of military bases signed at the time by Assad.
This peaceful exit may be part of an exchange of some sort. Maybe Syrian state assets being returned from Russia? Something like that. Or just a plain cash payout.
If I was Syrian I'd consider them my weapons and want them back. The orcs use them to try and subjugate them, the rebels won, to the Victors go the spoils
I don't know why they're hurrying. As soon as they get back to Russia, they'll all be fed into the meat-grinder in Kursk. They'll all be dead or crippled a month from now.
Russia's final acts before withdrawing from Syria: ... bombing as many hospitals as possible β’ Idlib University Hospital β’ Ibn Sina Hospital β’ Idlib National Hospital β’ Idlib Maternity and Obstetrics Hospital β’ Idlib Health Directorate 24 hours. 5 Syrian health centers bombed.
Israel does not want to hit Ruzzia directly. Likely there are plenty of targets in Syria to destroy, including what the Ruzzians leave behind in their rush to get out. The weapon systems are what needs to be destroyed at this point: ammo depots, command/control facilities & design facilities.
Why the fuck are the Syrian rebels letting the Russians withdraw in order and not wiping them out when the Russians have been raping, torturing and slaughtering Syrians for over a decade??!!!π€¬
Are you really sure they are leaving. Russians air base in Syria is still full of planes and soldiers. When Russians withraw in Afganistan Russians hope to get leave in peace but the Afghans made the Russians fight at every meter as the Russians tried to drive them out of Afghanistan.
I see your point, but how much harassment will the Russians put up with before they just level the area that they were being attacked from? I don't think Russians are looking to start a big fight right now in Syria, especially now that they are essentially there on their own.
The more Russian equipment and soldiers are destroyed in Syria, the less there are to send to Ukraine and Africa and elsewhere where Russia terrorizes the citizens of other countries.
That is a very good reason to make getting those troops and supplies unusable in Ukraine especially. I hope Ukraine's special forces are there to make them bleed.
Dead Russians and little-used military equipment and payback for all those hundreds of thousands of Syrian civilians murdered by the Russians of course. We have a saying in Finland: The only good Russkie is a dead Russkie.
When Russia withdrew from Afghanistan with its tail between its legs, the Afghans did not let Russia withdraw peacefully, even though they wished for it. Instead, the Afghans slaughtered the Russians all the way to the border, and since then Russia has not dared to attack Afghanistan.
Russia does not send soldiers and equipment home, but only transfers them to another battlefield, for example, Ukraine, Africa, etc., where Russia murders civilians from other countries everywhere. So the more Syrians destroy Russian equipment and soldiers, the more they are away from elsewhere.

I've really changed, perhaps improved.
They would be better dead in a ditch. Rather they couldn't live to fight another day.

All my best wishes and prayers to the citizens of Syria!

You can bet if they happened to have caught Assad, they wouldn't have given him any Golden Bridges.

The last I heard, Russia was negotiating with HTS to keep its bases in Tartus and Latakia
They would get safe passage out when they leave. Nobody wants the Russians to stay

Shoot them, burn their vehicles, destroy their equipment.
Oh, wait, that takes energy and a fatwa from a higher authority, right?
Who are they trying to kid? Right?
