This is an innovation with a lot of grim implications for VIP protection and counterterrorism, as these "fiber guided" drones (or missiles) are just not stoppable unless they can be shot out of the air
They aren’t exactly dragging the cable. The cable is on a spool on the drone. In flight the cable spools off. That way the drone doesn’t drag cable behind itself. Advantage of cable drones: they aren’t affected by electronic countermeasures.
