I'm unsure of the actual consequences of such a move yet, but it feels like an area to explore.
Anyone trusting Beijing to "save" anything needs to pick up a few books.
When Trump announces tariffs for UK & EU I can expect the UK & EU to introduce retaliatory tariffs too, and for them to eye closer trade with China.
Without counter actions from all countries affected, the damage the USA will create internationally will take years to rectify.
