I don't think it's the funds that are the problem is the material. Unless I'm radically underestimating the current amount of production in Europe they won't be able to spend the money.
Yeah over the last 10 years its European leaders have had several world changing events that they should have really started to beef up defense spending.. The saddest thing I think is had we in Europe listened to trump 8 years ago an taken defense seriously we'd be in a position to ignore him now.
The 2nd largest arms manufacturer and exporter on the planet is France. Over 400,000 people are directly employed in the arms industry there. France exports more arms than China and Russia combined. Europe absolutely has the capacity.
Yeah but your talking about talking over the slack of the US which is about 40% the arms delivered to Ukraine...not easy to make up. New factorys need to be build new supply lines. Etc
What Ukraine needed was those Hammer bombs and and Scalp missiles only in much greater volumes. Also 10 or 12 fighter jets will not cut it either. Volume is very, very important. France does not have it at this time.

My general idea is that it's the people that don't feel comfortable with power and don't want it who are most worthy of it....... I mean think of the psychology behind someone that actually wants power and thinks they know better than everyone else. Madness.
Europe can compeet with the US and make our own stuff but thats 10 years away. probly best for us to buy from china for now. nothing from US ever again. trumputin is the worse man alive today.
Money will not compensate for specific US weapon systems which Europeans also relyed upon. In time they can but that won't save Ukraine now. Better late than never.🫣

I said that because some people do/say stupid things as long it's not "with" Macron (his popularity is the lowest currently). Your example is perfect. Marine Le Pen is highly unstable because she tries to please too many people, with an unclear position and in the end, fragile.
