This phenomenon is absolutely getting people killed in the only developed country without universal healthcare but I don’t think Americans would grasp just how bad it is without experiencing the alternative.

come back. idk what Scotland’s NHS is like but I’d still take the horrendous wait lists and 10 hour waits in A&E of the English/Welsh system over being billed over a grand for a ride in an ambulance

Honestly the wait times weren't bad up there in smaller cities like Dundee where I lived - in tried to stay after graduation but couldn't secure a visa 🫠

I think it’s mainly that they’re worse now than a good few years back. I come from an island where it’s a lot better but here in the U.K. it’s gotten worse in recent years especially since COVID. Shame you couldn’t stay, I’d happily live in a pretty place like Scotland

Can't speak for Ireland but I know it's similar - Scotland was the best quality of life I ever had on the lowest budget! So beautiful, so friendly, plenty of affordable options to live.
