The system sending the messages is managed by an outside vendor. The US military has far too many vendors who are not audited for data integrity and security. This is one of them.

😂 Jake, once you’ve been in you never get to leave. Emails aside, you’ll learn that your military experiences set you aside from ordinary people now. I got close to a breakdown in my fifties and was forced to deal with my Australian Army service when I was a young man. Sigh! 🍀

When I took the oath of office it was an 8 year contract. I served 6 years active duty and had to do 2 inactive ready reserve (IRR). But that has already expired. I did not want to do guard or official reserve.

many years ago when i retired and finished my inactive reserve time i received a letter advising me of a separation physical (from inactive reserve). i was in colorado and physical was in maryland. i returned the enclosed form and got a reply that basically said "oops".
