Some of that is happening. There's also a whole series of economic blackouts and boycotts going on. Protesting didn't move the needle much last time... so... there are alternative approaches being attempted.

Also, it's different in the US. The Capitol is thousands of miles from half the country. So a protest in every major city is the closest approximate, and that happened on presidents Day, but it's not the same as gathering everyone in the capitol and building a good support system to keep it going.
And what does antifa stand for!! ANTI FASCISTS which our current republicon government and president are! Nazi FASCISTS! But, it won't get violent, unless they do!!
The right doesn't care what it stands for, they get told they're commies/socialists violently trying to destroy "what used to be beautiful American cities" and the message is lost on them. Or did you already forget that "Seattle burned down" in the BLM protests when the truth was far from that.
I think that's a big reason people are organizing in different ways right now. Will it work? no idea. I kind of doubt the right message will get through no matter what we do, but it's worth a shot.
Lots of countries protest in numbers. When they are brutalized it doesnt work against 100,000 people. It creates more anger and they remove the government themselves.
You never had too. Democracy and the very republic is in danger of being taken from you…by the citizens who claim to be patriots while demanding the removing of the constitution for white nationalism
Someone needs to tell the people running these 50501 protests the following...
1. If people only get a few days notice of the event, they likely can't make it.
2. If you make the event on a weekday when most people work, they likely can't make it.
3. Why do we have to protest in state capital cities? Many state capitals are a long drive from major population centers.
4. Stop promoting your event with a dumb name that makes sound like it's a concert tour.
It’s a protest not a beach trip. Its going to be inconvenient, if organizing large crowds of people to occupy a space were easy we wouldn’t be having to this this here and now.
It isn’t gonna be easy, it’s a literal fight for our democracy and the existence of some of our more vulnerable friends
That's why it is essential to organize alternatives and additional actions that put the squeeze on the powerful. Standing around with a sign clearly isn't enough and making a mass movement less accessible makes it less likely to get the critical mass needed for success.
