This is exactly it. They’re walking Dunning Kruger machines - they consider themselves very clever so whenever they become aware of anything, they assume they’re either the first to do so or simply understand all of it cause they know none of the nuance.

This is what I think of as a specific kind of ignorance that heavily affects young white guys who work in tech. It says “i don’t know about this, so I assume no one else does either.” It’s new to them, so it must be new to everybody!

The computer programmer people are the absolute worst. They think they know the most but shockingly know so little outside of their worldview. Most of the scientist I worked with in chemistry, biology, physics, etc tend to be more grounded.
He and the people round him are clearly not stupid, just have bad intentions.
This intellectual snobbery is not useful at all.
I’m not trying to say he isn’t dangerous or intelligent, but I suspect, based on him literally showing it again and again, that he assumes deeper knowledge in areas he knows less about.
Bad intent does not equal lack of ability. I would argue this for trump also.
