This #IWD2025, I’m celebrating the resiliency of women in municipal leadership roles, like so many of my colleagues across the country at @fcm.ca and on council here in Vancouver. By working together, we can get even closer to equality in council chambers across the country.

Women represent 31% of all municipal elected representatives in Canada. While this shows movement toward equality, this progress is threatened by a pervasive culture of toxicity in politics across the country.
