Predictable upsurge in shopping in thrift stores, flea markets, yard sales, item swapping. Learn to live more like people in the Great Depression (1929-1939), World War II rationing. It appears we're going to need better "frugality skills."
Also estate sales and online auctions. Use auctionzip to find one near you. Sign up for estate sale notifications at local companies. Many great deals to be found.
Very good point. My new years resolution was to buy less clothing and/or buy used clothing. It's only April but I've only bought 1 new item from a store, but 2 pairs of like new but used running shoes. It's actually quite easy to do. And I'm saving a lot of money.
No, you are ruining my good finds...been doing this for 2 decades. I've always been poor...my daughter loves thrift shopping and would look at her friends like they were stupid for paying full price. She's almost 21.
King Donnie the Dumbfuck, brilliant lover of capitalism, thinks tariffs will generate mo money!
Too stupid to understand people will curtail spending when prices go through the roof! No money! Oopsie...
use car sales will be booming like they did during Covid.
Long waits for new products and tariff taxes increasing the prices is really gonna hurt a lot of companies. I can't understand why they are okay with all of this.
This is not a solution for many things we import. Like foods we don’t grow.
Just a hand wave that minimizes the fact that the GOP is taking money from your pockets and giving it to the rich, who can afford the million dollar bribes for no tariffs on their imports.
Online secondhand is perfect. Someone always has exactly what I’m looking for. Maybe takes a few days, couple of week.
Example. A friend wanted a Teak dining room table. Oval, certain size. She could go to every furniture store and not find that. Or pay big $$. I found her the perfect one for $600
I furnished and decorated my first home that I just bought a few years ago with so much from kijiji and Facebook marketplace that 1) I never could have afforded 2) wouldn’t have found “exactly” what I wanted. It looks so nice, and nothing looks second hand.

My daughter has a Vintage selling online business promoting sustainable growth.
Free trade made that possible. No one WANTS these tariffs. Go.home.
