I decided to learn to photograph bugs to get better at visual description in my writing. I'm still not very good at photographing bugs but I'm much happier.

Look I'm going to add something even more potentially controversial to this...don't just read other genres. Go look at art like paintings or puppets, go read some comic books, go listen to a bunch of different music go watch someone do felt work or pottery. Talk to a tree.
