1H thoughts: this formation works and the tactics are becoming more and more clear. Impressed with Hartel, Indy, Watts and Löwen most notably on the ball and like the defensive box work on defense. #AllForCITY

I liked what I saw early but once the pressure got more intense we fell off. Feels like that was the issue against RSL too (and honestly last year). We just have a hard time consistently keeping possession unless given space by the other team.
Simon Becher has seen a couple good opportunities early in the 2H in different ways: a nice flick to lead him in a transition 1v1 & in the box just being in the right place. Good to see him getting in those positions. #AllForCITY
Notable to me that #AllForCITY is dropping into a 5-4-1 on defense while NYCFC is in possession. Did it after their 2nd goal. Don’t call it parking the bus but definitely a more compact and defensively minded look after going up 2.
