If they didn't wanna have Chloe in the main story of the game, just follow the canon and have this Max reality be the bad ending, I hate it? Yes. Would much rather have Chloe alive but this breakup was so out of the blue. Maybe Max switches realities she finds out she's dating a very alive Chloe?idk

Like, you have two endings in the first game, two realities in the sequel. They had both the cheese and the knife in their hands, we could have both endings be canon in different realities

That was my theory too, that they were being secretive about Chloe bc there would be a reveal that the two timelines were a result of the two original endings. It would have been such a good twist & so much more respectful to Max and Chloe's characters than what we got 😔✌️
