Totally! Don’t get me wrong - I do always say neurodivergent or neurodivergence, or autism or ADHD, etc - if I specifically mean those. Just “neurodiversity” and “neurodiverse” so often used incorrectly with - sometimes - the best intentions.

I also agree entirely with the point you make about “with neurodiversity”. In many cases people are substituting “with autism” for “with neurodiversity”, so they haven’t learned anything. There’s no understanding of the model, i.e., using identity-first language and the social model of disability.
Yes, I think there are lots of people (especially those whom it directly affects) who do have that understanding but plenty more who don’t! I like that there’s good intentions amongst quite a few though, even when it’s used incorrectly. Just got to be gentle and kind when
explaining what it actually means, I think :) I was really anxious recently doing that with someone whom I know quite well, but she was very receptive and it reassured me that people often don’t mind getting clarity on the difference if done in a way that is friendly and respectful 😊
