Retail orders yes are placed in advance, but the expected price is no longer available. Some do have deals where the retailer pays on a sale basis, but not all, and most is pay for the order or it is not shipped, meaning inventory not sold is loss in both profit and buying more to sell.

Wasn't he watching the last time the supply chain collapsed under Trump? When unpredictable stuff happens, businesses won't be able to order the right amount of stuff, which means the supply chain collapses. And now unpredictability is part of the federal policy itself.
