There's no other option still, although I know people have been trying in recent years to patch the original disc versions.
The SNES version is still recognizable, but in its original, unpatched state especially, it's so compromised that it doesn't fully represent its appeal and impact here.

Was about to ask, for non-japanese speakers, are there any options other than the SNES fan translation?
Also, is there something wrong with that one in particular or is just that it's not up to par to the other ones?
