They are fed nothing but grievance propaganda 24/7. I would imagine it has to change a persons disposition. The true devastation of MAGA won’t be the grifting, hate policies, or even the treason. It’ll be the lost personal relationships with friends and family that will be it’s lasting affect.

The damage this era has done to my relationship with my father is staggeringly disappointing. And I have heard so many similar stories. It’s like their morals changed or a magnifying glass was shone on their worst instincts.

Same. I try to remember my father has been radicalized by a propaganda machine more powerful than any of us could have ever imagined. Doesn’t make it less hurtful and repugnant. But it does allow me to resent him less for what he’s embraced.

Couldn’t care less about my sister, one way or the other, full stop. My parents are a tougher call. Especially because of how much our kids adore them both.

Absolutely on the first part. I just don’t have it in me to be anything but fully supportive of a child’s interests or passions. Even if I don’t share them.
