Right? Like, either the reader guesses a twist, in which case they can go "im smart :3" and that's a good feeling to leave a reader with, or they don't, in which case they shocked pikachu and they can go back and see hints they missed
I feel like it can be a double-edged sword, or rather, if they guess a twist within a very little amount of time (the first few pages) I feel like it may have been a bit too... predictable. But yes, if you've built stuff up and gave enough details it feels great to know that somebody understands...
Ok but what about if someone misses it but then once the twist happens they look back and they’re like “omg there were so many signs, how did I miss it, it was obvious”
Noooo, if the audience realise the big plot twist, you must rewrite everything to make a new big plot twist. That way you can smugly say you outwitted your audience (this is sarcasm by the way)

When you get to the twist and immediately go "oh, of course!!"
But you can never get everyone like this. A good twist will still be predicted by the smartest of your audience.
