Reminder: The Constitution says Congress regulates trade. The president imposing tariffs is an abuse of emergency powers.
There is clearly no US national security emergency regarding Canada. Media might not care, weaklings in Congress might want to forfeit their authority, but still, facts matter.

These tariffs also represent a unilateral withdrawal from USMCA (nee NAFTA) without consent of Congress.

Like: “Only congress can declare war”
I guess it seemed like a good idea at the time.
I know they’re pretty deferential

Strategically one should allow trump to impose even more tariffs and ideally deploy USMC against "cartels" in mexico
But not always, and I'm always open to some clever forum shopping...
Party machine.
A lot has changed.
But the hypocrisy, like the cruelty, is the point. Reality and truth are what they say they are in the moment and history, as fascist sympathizer Henry Ford put it, "is bunk".
The drafters of that the law did not imagine a president would lie and abuse it on this scale. Or at least that if one did, the badness would be so apparent that it'd get a massive negative reaction from the public, media, and especially Congress.
And US border guards do the inflow checking anyway.
What's being distracted from?
He wants all our stuff for free. So he is going to ratchet up these tariffs until he gets it. He doesn’t want trade. He wants to appropriate resources. Your country is in the beginning stages of trying to annex our country and it’s pretty fucking obvious from here.
on steel, aluminum and softwood lumber. Americans paid aprx 12k more for each new build home
Tariffs are a wartime strategy that can never work as intended after decades of globalization, particularly as human life + economies are digitaltized
Can AGs go before a judge and request a search warrant and arrest warrant for Musks team that is committing domestic terrorism?
What Musk and Co. are doing is not domestic terrorism, but it’s almost certainly illegal. I don’t know what recourse state AGs do or don’t have for lawbreaking at a federal agency like this.
He lives on attention and conflict like every other reality star, so war is on the menu
