Martin Lewis reported that there could be 700,000 still not claiming, and that many of these may be people in the early undiagnosed stages of dementia, and not having the mental capacity to manage the process.
There are people from Age UK who can come and do this for you and there used to be people from the pension service who would encourage you to take up pension credit (not sure if it's still a thing anymore) Pensioners are too proud.
After you raised this a while back, I eventually got aged relative to phone and do the application that way. If it helps anyone to know this - you were right, the people by phone are awesome, patient and kind.
