Yes and, NOAA does not just benefit insurance through "feeding actuarial models."

Insurance works best when people are aware of extreme hazards and can work to reduce them (move car inside before hailstorm, put on hurricane shutters). It benefits insurance to make sure *everyone* has good data.

It is alarming that trade associations aren't getting meetings with the new administration about the future of NOAA. Per a Feb. letter, "Perhaps no other federal entity facilitates greater economic and commercial activity than NOAA and its data sources."
