I went to a very affluent area of the UK last year, near Chequers, that had 100 to 200 people waiting for the food bank to open.

I spent a good few hours in the discharge lounge after my surgery. It was both depressing and uplifting. The former because of the number of people abandoned by their families and friends. The latter because of the effort staff were taking to find solutions. I told them I thought they were great.

Mrs W trained at the Leicester Royal (and I had my tonsils out and a steel pin put in a broken hand there - not at the same time, I hasten to add!)

It's infuriating how badly the Tories abused NHS staff for 14 years. Never again, I hope.
