Imma say it: these books were HORRIBLE. Most NOTLD comics have been horrible, unreadable dreck. I absolutely LOVED the moody painted adaptation of the film, and a cool painted one issue sequel that followed. A case where “public domain” birthed abominations.

I still find that Night of the Living Dead universe that Bill Jemas tried to create for Take Two (the parent of video game publisher/developers 2K and Rockstar) hilarious.

It was actually a pretty high concept, but unfortunately, the execution just didn’t follow through. That being said we did end up getting some great creators out of that publishing line.

This reminds me…Did you ever read the Fantaco sequel to their painted NOTLD adaptation; NOTLD: London?

If not; i do recommend that one. That one shot (called Aftermath) leads right in to it.

Yes I did!! I enjoyed it for what it was. It had a lot of faults but otherwise was pretty solid.

Oh yah. Not great comics by any stretch of the imagination. I’m a big NOTLD fan myself and despite their general “Not awesomeness” i always want to give them a try.
