Commenting much like everyone else, putting the APK on fdroid or github without requiring the play store is more favorable as you dont need to wait for Google Timelines, you can reach more users and provide faster updates in beta.

Bluesky infrastructure is atproto. AppViews consume data from PDS; Bluesky is an AppView. Skylight would be a different AppView, is my understanding.

Yes, skylight would be appview who get and upload videos content with a algorithm to try to replicate tiktok feelings. Later, they maybe change for infrastructure/lexicon but it will required lot of work and add incompatibility with bluesky content so some tradeoff.
