We already paid for the water companies to repair and replace the infrastructure. Profit is what’s left after businesses have paid all their overheads and that includes maintaining the system. Instead, they gave our money away and they’re continuing to wreak havoc on our environment. No more.

The funding model is not working: it incentivises the accumulation of debt above any other objective.

Until we reform the regulated asset base model, any other intervention is likely to be well-meaning but futile. Sorry that this might be disappointing.

For decades, these companies have poured raw sewage into our rivers, causing ecological disasters and illnesses and letting critical infrastructure collapse.
