The only things I wasn't willing to dick around with were Photoshop and Audition, and i canceled my sub with them anyway (been meaning to) and went with GIMP and Audacity. 10/10, no notes, no complaints, love it. If you find that GIMP doesn't do what you need, Krita is worth a look too. It's designed more for drawing, but can do photo editing as well. It's also free, and is in the Mint repos 🙂

The good news for me is, I don't use PS to nearly the level I used to a, uh ... FEW years ago when I was on LiveJournal everyday LMAO. At this point, I really only use it to update my landing page for my D&D game, and GIMP works great for that (i took it for a test run last night).

I've found it a bit hit and miss, but it might just be because I'm used to Photoshop. I've been using it with Krita and Inkscape for light photo editing and things like posters and logos, swapping to one of the others if I can't do something 🙂

Apparently GIMP 3 solves a few of the big problems with the earlier versions, but I haven't had a chance to play with it yet. I did look at running PS on Mint, but thought I might as well switch properly and stop giving them money 🙈
