I was quite surprised to hear a story about nitrogen fixation when listening to the news on NPR. 🌊

Bacteria fix nitrogen for all plants including algae. It has always been like that given evolutionary history. We will kill most bacteria on earth and hence risk extinction.

Yes. How? Via bacteria in the rhizosphere and the microbiome of the plant leaves etc. Bacteria produce B12 which is key for plants and they active potassium and nitrogen for all plants.
