Well where I live at least there is only a 24hrs hold in a psychiatric ward if someone decides you have TDS and possibly 72hrs for evaluation. Just don’t act out stay calm. They can hold you involuntarily for 21 days if you are acting out. Check your local codes for emergency mental healthcare.

When it comes to defining a mental illness I hardly think any Republican is qualified to do their jobs, much less do a psychiatric diagnosis.
