Also to use a real life example for the metaphor, there are plenty of vulnerable lgbtqiap people who would rather risk homelessness than have to rely on bigoted organizations like the Salvation Army, so yes sometimes beggars are rightfully choosers.

Also, I agree with the example you gave, but I would also say it's not comparable to this situation whatsoever.

I have my preferences, sure, but I'm also going to buy it from whatever publisher licenses it.

If Tokyopop has genuinely improved its practices/policies and management I haven't heard any positive reporting on it recently in the last few years, but it's possible I have missed it and my info is out-of-date.
