CDC division responsible for asthma control and lead poisoning prevention effectively eliminated. Workers say no other HHS unit has capacity to respond to such public health crises. ➡️Lead poisoning in children is infamously irreversible.

Well this is great. Two weeks ago CBC results came back weird, and doctor tested for lead poisoning. Lead! Already started treatment and can't tell you how much better I feel. Probably went on for decades but a less alert doctor would have missed it. And I thought my dragging fatigue was aging.
Sorry you are going through this! A neighbor learned her 4 yr old had high lead levels even with no risk factors on pediatric screener (they live in new construction). They think it was from stained glass lamp, “chippy paint” home decor items, and/or gun residue dad dragged home from hunting.
So is lead poisoning. Poor people live in older homes that aren’t properly repainted. And-it’s in pipes too. I worked in a lab. Lead poisoning in the 90s was so prevalent that I regularly saw toddlers affected by it. It affects their brain FOREVER

Kyrgyzstan has a lead poisoning prevention program.
The wealthiest, and, as of today, still most powerful country in the world does not.
